If humanity spreads to the stars, like ancient seafarers to explore the limitless ocean of space, no matter how far we venture into the unknown the worst monsters are those we bring with us. Musk is the worst.

You're not the only one who believes that - and I sure do wish the SoSs and state AGs in the swing states that are not GA or PA (they won't do it bc those offices are held by Rs) would go ahead & have the investigation to safeguard '26 & '28 elections

No, but if you refuse they can take it. It just happened to an immigration lawyer (American citizen) upon returning from vacation in Dominican Republic. He said they were probably trying to get client info from his contacts.

It is true. Lawyer here: my firm requires that we delete all client-related content when traveling internationally because of this. Our concern is attorney-client privilege but this is yet another risk posed to everyone.

It happened recently to a Canadian citizen visiting the US and the CBC had a program on the weekend on how to prepare for a trip across the Southern border including what to do with your cell phone. It was really interesting and relevant.

They have to have a warrant to access. Get rid of facial recognition & fingerprint entry. Use only PIN codes. They cannot make you open it without a warrant.

They have the power to do it to citizens and have. Remove all social media apps, lock with alphanumeric password and don't admit to any social media accounts. They can take your phone and "inspect" it but need a warrant to make you open it.

Tea Pain keeps hearing a rumor that airport customs agents can seize your phone and search for negative comments against Trump. This seems highly unlikely that the government has that many resources to check that many travelers. Can anyone confirm or deny this seemingly silly rumor?

No one should be above the law, most especially the President.

Ignoring a Supreme Court ruling to facilitate Kilmar Abrego Garcia's return isn't just cruel; it's unconstitutional.

They're saying the quiet part aloud — if they get away with it now, they'll do it to anyone.

Here is the situation if I’m understanding it correctly:

1. They are deporting lawful immigrants erroneously to prisons overseas

2. They are claiming no recourse to return these individuals

3. They say they are open to deporting citizens in the same way
