Been thinking about this too. Could be that work is perceived as something that ought to be "not enjoyable" and making friends & having fun has no room in that attitude. Like remaining detached to be able to deal with negative aspects of work. But it's a very sad attitude indeed!

A toothpick made of this pine was believed to cure or alleviate tooth ache. One had to dig the gum around the aching tooth with the pick until blood-soaked, then push it back into the tree. The tree was believed to gain more lifeforce this way.
