High school library worker, trying to encourage reading. Grandmother. Social justice. Living on Kaurna Land. LGTBIA rights. CIS female. Equity, equality and recognising that Western civilisation has a lot to answer for. Free Palestine
Perhaps trying to prevent the spread of corporate hegemony into an already volatile region.Especially one when the western colonist governments don't take responsibility for the chaos they've caused

The priorities of this and previous governments point towards capture by fossil fuel and big business lobbyists, to the detriment of the environment, and workers who pay the actual taxes that these fuckers happily avoid paying.instead of working for us they do robodebt, offshore detention and Aukus

I have a friend whose dad thought he was being affected by this back in the day. Turns out he a
had prexisiting medical condition that he was encouraged by the pro fossil fuel lobby to blame on the turbines. Anyone who lives within cooee of giant transmission towers, knows how power is delivered
Wattle Point Wind Farm - Edithburgh, Attraction
Witness the turbines' quiet, rhythmic motion at Wattle Point Wind Farm, and discover how light breezes generate a significant amount of clean energy.

At the stage of thinking it kinder to have a quick planet cleansing asteroid. I do have grandchildren after all.The earth has managed to overcome multiple ecological disasters, and hopefully the next one will evolve a less destructive species. How did our knowledge result in this? Greed for the few

These words rang a bell from a song, I couldn't quite remember. Turns out I got the words wrong, but it still fits! Vanity, insecurity, from Simple Minds, Don't you forget about me.
A song with multiple meanings, but kind of creepy in retrospect.

Yes indeed. Caused by politicians making deals and spending our tax payer money to prop up those wealthy and vested interests that avoid paying tax. Rather than investing in the things that benefit the people that pay their taxes, and the underprivileged who need help and support.

More likely controlled by the same cabal that controlled Morrison

I heard this story on the ABC, after watching the video. And yet it's young women who are the problem?! There are already enough violent sporting outlets, but they'd rather punch each other senseless than go to a doctor, get therapy, or vote for someone who isn't against their economic well-being
The Hood Contender pits men against each other in 'deeply disturbing' combat
The organiser of this fight club says it saves lives. But critics say it is putting young men at serious risk.

"Torry pointed out that emissions from the energy sector in Indonesia have not been seriously addressed. Meanwhile forests are being used to attract investment and improve the country’s image at global forums, such as COP30"

Australian fossil fuel companies are buying these useless carbon credits
November 17, 2025 at 8:20 AM
Carbon capture and storage and carbon credits are just excuses to continue polluting. And nothing can really mitigate the long term effects of continually pumping pollutants into the atmosphere. Especially some tenuous promise of "new technologies"

The ASC gave Tassal a responsible Aquaculture certificate!!!!
November 17, 2025 at 7:19 AM
It's hard to find any information on where some of the major chains source their salmon, or who even owns them. Few provide contact details beyond bookings. The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) gaveTassal an award for reducing greenhouse emissions but nothing about their dodgy farming practices
