Every response to this is hilarious. Since Jan this entire website has agreed that a major problem, a threat to our lives, a threat to Democracy is that Dems are acting like it’s “politics as usual” with Trump in office, which is EXACTLY what happened today but he has a nice smile so it’s ok.

Here it would be far more than rhetorical: Trump is targeting Jews who leveled antisemitism complaints! I’m literally writing an article right now about how these actions are going to chill Jews who want to speak out on antisemitism (but don’t want to be pawns of MAGA repression).

It annoys me when nominal support for LGBT rights is used instrumentally to push for clout or unrelated goals. But I *really* hate it when it’s treated as basically a cringe bourgeois affectation, whether it be the right, left, or center that’s pulling out that old canard.

I've mentioned it before, but in about 2013 I read an article in the Herald Tribune (as was) by an American communist who was writing against gay marriage in France. Aside from 'nobody wants it', he argued that being gay was bourgeois deviationism, which was cured in the gulags. It was... revealing.

Also for anyone who is curious, Gus is a Maine Coon so essentially cat hardware running dog software.

Also, for those who made it this far: my coworkers sometimes ask for get-well messages from Gus when they are not feeling well (sound on)

Side note: love my gender-affirming care and I wish it were this easy for trans women to get it.
