Yes. That is what being an independent nation means. It also means the ~$20 Billion Alberta pays to Canada in excess of what it receives back every year will stay in Alberta to fund what ever the citizens choose.

I can’t speak for others but I came to my position by myself. Those that are the ”face” of the movement would not be what I would call ”elites”.
I see a broad range of people in favour of independence.
