“I find no comfort in the Trump administration’s embrace of my people, on college campuses or elsewhere," the first Jewish president of Wesleyan, Michael Roth, writes. "Jew hatred is real, but today’s anti-antisemitism isn’t a legitimate effort to fight it.”
Opinion | Trump’s Crusade Against Antisemitism Is Extremely Bad for the Jews
Antisemitism is real. But the enemy of our enemy is not necessarily our friend.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

Thank you, @kaine.senate.gov for joining the filibuster to stop Russ Vought’s confirmation
Under no circumstances can Russ Vought—a key architect of Project 2025—be confirmed.

My colleagues and I will be holding the Senate floor ALL night in opposition of his nomination.

Great guide on the praxis and theory of GenAI refusal as a strategy and tactic. Even for those embracing GenAI, this guide offers an excellent boundary-setting process.

Also, three researchers I respect immensely.

I feel seen
Optimist: the cup is half full

Pessimist: the cup is half empty

Educational developers: Is “having a full cup” one of your course learning objectives? But how will you assess the fullness of the cup? Could your assessment be more authentic? And have you considered ungrading?
Optimist: the cup is half full

Pessimist: the cup is half empty

Tolkien: but they were all deceived, for another cup was made.

Having lots of conversations with colleagues lately about AI and writing. This video from Tressie McMillan Cottom is a big help to me in thinking about why resistance makes sense. www.instagram.com/reel/DBKllBx...

I just wrestled my duvet back into its cover and I think I deserve a prize now. Or a nap. Maybe both. Also I think that was my workout today.

As usual, @roxanegay.bsky.social nails it. We’re in for some tough times, and our job is now resistance. (We knew that, but she says it with such clarity.)
For the @nytimes.com I wrote about how Enough is Enough with the incumbent president and his cabinet of folly and let’s stop coddling Trump voters and be real clear-eyed about what lies ahead. www.nytimes.com/2024/11/17/o...
Opinion | Enough
To suggest we should yield even a little to Trump’s odious politics is unacceptable. Even if we did, it would never be enough.
