He/Him. Aussie marketing professional. Former film and game critic. Recent completed #Vanlife around Australia.
Worked over a decade in marketing and honestly a huge part of doing a good job was telling clients they are wrong. Often that was dissuading them from only chasing huge impression numbers.

Only 23% voting for AI is a good result? Generally much more people then that are incredibly stupid.

Considering bluesky has custom feeds, I dont really see the point of features that tell the feed what content you like or dislike. Ive already curated my feeds by users.

I had a lot of fun with 4, trying to "break" history. Doing things like uniting all the indigenous american tribes and stopping the French, British, Spanish from conquering them.

I bought a 3 month gift card before the price increased to activate if a specific game or two come out on it but otherwise I've cancelled my reoccurring.

To be fair, and I had to look this up out of curiosity, there's some newer toned down modules that just look like pretty standard laptops. I kind of like the subtle-ish holographic logo.

I'm in a committed Hades 2 relationship atm, so it'll have to wait until after I get over that in like another 50 hours or so.

Publishers just see the cost for music as too high. It's a real problem generally in media. Games and TV shows are getting removed from services or the music replaced so they don't to make complicated deals and pay royalties forever. We'll literally never get another Def Jam game 😭

The price increase isn't unexpected, though the PC price seems especially high. I think it's been a pretty great deal this whole time if you just only activate it some months. Getting to play new releases for only $13 etc was pretty great. Especially as someone who doesn't replay games much etc.

Congrats on the pay! I totally get splurging on the thing you love.

I just have become pretty anti-Nintendo in my old age 😆.

I hate how little push back they get about being anti-consumer, especially compared to other companies like EA who get it constantly.

$160 to play three 15+ yo games. How do Nintendo keep getting away with this?

Dont worry, a huge percentage of the US population are pro-guns, so they can stand up to a tyranical government, so surely they'll do something about this... its not like they could have been lying this whole time, and that was never the reason they wanted guns...

One of the few bathroom related things thats better in america: urinals are the individual ones with dividers. The Australian style troughs are gross af.

Personally, I've switched to Thermal Grizzly's Phasesheet PTM thermal pads.

You can just pop them on your tongue, much easier.

Thermal energy can be used to generate electricty though. In fact thats the most common way to do it.

Sure, but does it matter if they're considerably cheaper and dont require mining for precious metals?
August 30, 2025 at 10:31 AM
The whole point of sand batteries is that they are cheap and dont require mining precious metals, etc.
