Brian Strahan supporters are making the case on the I Love NE FB group (the bad one) to vote for Brian because he’s liked by republicans. When the person initially making this point tried to then distance it from saying Trump supporters like him, the Trump supporting moderator confirmed it.

Just delivered a sign for someone who requested it because their landlord put up a Strahan sign. This shows the choice we have this election.

Elect someone who fights for renters who actually live here, or elect someone that voted in Ward 3 in January 2025 that’s having landlords put up his signs.

I’ve been getting her emails even though I never signed up and don’t live in Ward 12. What strikes me every time I read them is that she lists her campaign address as her Northside address. This email is from 9/12, after she filed an *affidavit* of candidacy that she lives W12

What makes thing worse is that publicly available property information has shown the whole time that he has homesteaded his Ward 3 home. So even if somehow he was truly living in his Ward 1 home, he’d just be committing more fraud.

In the Strib voter guide Brian Strahan says his neighborhood is Logan Park. Close, but not quite. His Ward 3 home where he has voted from as recently as January of this year is Sheridan neighborhood. The duplex his wife owns in Ward 1 is Windom Park. Lying so much he can’t get his story straight.

At a time when the right is calling for homeless people to be euthanized, I’m not sure how this statement can be made with a clear conscience. The city’s response to homelessness is inhumane and a massive failure.

MAYOR FREY'S STATEMENT ON ENCAMPMENT SHOOTING:
Last night, multiple people were seriously injured at an encampment. My thoughts are with the victims and the Southside community.
We are grateful to our partners at the State who are willing to assist MPD's efforts to address crime in the area, and we will be closing this landlord's private property encampment today, now that MPD has finished investigating the scene. If the landlord wants to sue us, we'll see him in court. It was his choice to prevent us from closing it twice before, and this won't be tolerated.
Equivocation on this issue is unconscionable. Whether you're a private property owner or an elected official, the time for hedging is over.
We have years of evidence showing that encampments are unsafe. They don't just endanger residents; they create conditions where some of our most vulnerable neighbors are exploited by drugs, violence, and trafficking. They regularly end with violence, fire, or tragedy. That is why we close them.
Making encampments more "permanent" is not harm reduction—it entrenches harm. Our obligation is to help people transition to safer, healthier alternatives.
The City's Homeless Response team will continue to go out daily, offering shelter and resources. Our Mobile Medical Unit will continue to go out daily, providing health care and opioid resources. The Minneapolis Police Department will continue to respond to areas to ensure tents aren't being set up. And we will continue to work with our partners at the County to connect people to housing.
After we offer those services, encampments must be closed. We cannot allow them to persist when violence, danger, and tragedy are the norm. More lives will be lost if we do.

Don’t forget that Jacob Frey used to love the DFL endorsement process back when it suited him. He wouldn’t be here without getting the DFL endorsement over Ward 3 Council Member Diane Hofstede in 2013. He used to campaign on it all the time back then! That’s why he worked so hard to take it away.

I want to particularly point out the significance of my Rep. Sydney Jordan signing on. She is the former field director for Frey and worked with his current Comms staff Darwin Forsyth. Mike McCool said she was Frey’s first hire on his first Mayoral campaign.

Many of these elected officials haven’t even endorsed him, but they know how wrong this is and how bad this is for the DFL in Minneapolis.

DFL elected officials to condemn the DFL Constitution, Bylaws & Rules Committee's decision to revoke the endorsement of Omar Fateh. A full list of signers is included below the statement.
The group wrote: "We strongly condemn the DFL's Constitution, Bylaws & Rules Committee's (CBRC) decision to revoke the DFL endorsement from Omar Fateh. Last month, thousands of caucus-goers and delegates across Minneapolis gathered to participate in the Minneapolis DFL Convention. Now, a month later, a small group of DFL board members, a majority living outside Minneapolis, met privately to overturn the will of Minneapolis delegates who volunteered, organized, and participated in a months-long DFL process. It is inexcusable to overturn the results weeks after the convention because board members did not like the outcome. Not only does this decision set an extremely dangerous precedent, it will undermine the DFL endorsing process going forward and fails to center the will of delegates.
"Right now, there is a clear tension between the progressive democrats who are challenging the status quo and moderate democrats. It is extremely disheartening that Omar Fateh, the first Black mayoral candidate to be DFL-endorsed in the last three decades, will have his endorsement revoked. No matter what the DFL tries to say, remember that this happened. Multiple progressive campaigns spent months organizing and beat Frey so bad he staged a failed walk out and subsequently had to manipulate the state party into overturning the clear result. This can happen again in November.

Audit Confirms Minneapolis Upheld Separation Ordinance
During June 3 Incident
Today, the City Auditor released findings from its review of incidents surrounding the June 3 federal investigation near Lake Street and Bloomington Avenue - confirming that the City of Minneapolis provided accurate and truthful information to the public and elected officials during the incident and did not violate the City's ordinance barring the Minneapolis Police Department from participating in the enforcement of federal immigration laws.
"Facts matter. In moments of crisis, our residents deserve clear, accurate information," said Mayor Jacob Frey. "This audit confirms that the City did not violate its Separation Ordinance and acted with integrity, keeping public safety front and center. I'm grateful to our City staff and emergency management team for their professionalism, and I appreciate the auditor's thorough work on this report. Transparency and accountability are essential to public trust, and this report reinforces both."
The audit confirmed:
• The City's Separation Ordinance was not violated.
• The City and MPD were not aware of the federal investigation until 10 a.m. on June 3.
• MPD did notarrest or question anyone based on their immigration status, and officers were not directly involved in the investigation.
• City emergency plans were in place.
• Chief O'Hara remained on scene, calm and engaged, during the incident.
"As l've said since June 3rd, the MPD followed the Separation Ordinance and does not work with federal agencies on immigration enforcement," said Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara. "The MPD has an obligation to protect our residents and does not have authority over federal law enforcement. We need everyone in the community to work collaboratively with the MPD in the future, as we inevitably will once again be faced with an unforeseen circumstance where we must gather facts and de-escalate to protect life and safety for everyone. That's what we did on June 3

Observations & Recommendations:
1. City Officials, including the Mayor, Chief of Police, and City Council Members, did not have prior knowledge of the federal law enforcement action that occurred on June 3, 2025.
2. Statements made on June 3, 2025 by City Council Members and the Mayor's Office were truthful, but because the Administration did not notify the City Council of transpiring events for nearly four hours after the Chief of Police was first informed, speculative communication occurred.?
• The City Council, in collaboration with the Mayor's Office and MPD, should develop communication sequencing protocols to notify all appropriate City Officials, including appropriate City Council Members during ongoing incidents of great public interest, especially those that could lead to civil unrest. In an incident like this, we recommend that, at minimum, the City Council President and City Council Vice President be notified.
3. The City did not violate its Separation Ordinance; however, this incident demonstrated a need to better prepare a united response to a real or perceived federal immigration enforcement action.
• City Administration should include in their emergency management planning expectations for
MPD when a real or perceived federal immigration enforcement action is identified
4. The Separation Ordinance was adopted in 2003 and has not been updated to address contemporary federal immigration enforcement actions.
• The City Council should review the Separation Ordinance for potential updates.
• MPD should update its related policies, such as 9-400 and 6-107.

2 An individual Council Member was earlier told by a police officer on scene that the actions were not immigration related, however, federal law enforcement insignia of "ICE" and "HSI" were observed, adding to the confusion and distrust. Additionally, this Council Member sought information and clarity through official City Administration sources, to which they received no response.
