I can't imagine campaigning on this, but if grave breaches become operational policy and other war crimes are routinely pardoned when/if prosecuted, joining the ICC seems much more reasonable than my previous belief that we'd hold our own accountable.

For any grave offenses (i.e. universal jurisdiction), would the U.S. need join the ICC, as opposed to making it known there would be no objection to an international prosecution?

No idea. The 2 fire trucks and 3 police cars responding to The Great Finger Incident told me they couldn't get or cut it off; maybe they were extra careful for a child not in imminent danger.

Hah - I don't know the composition of a school bus seatbelt latch plate, but removal from kiddo's finger was handled in the OR.

Notably, the sweetheart 2008 plea deal with then South FL U.S. Atty Acosta was under the Bush admin. I'd love to see that case file, because the reporting makes it sound like a very strong case and the plea a perversion of justice.

Apparently people are now worried about vaccinating their pets as well, including against rabies which is just wild.

Many years ago, the principal at my kiddo's school redesigned the spec ed pick-up to specifically prohibit parents congregating because we were all sharing IEP goals and advocacy tips. We lost a great resource.

Thanks—the asylum system can take years, so I imagine it's easy to put the passage of time aside and go on living your life. What a mess.

I'm curious where the info that he never heard back came from. Another news source? If he had a work permit valid until 2029, there had to be some associated process?

I can't vouch for nail polish but my gran swore by dusting sulphur powder on shoes, ankles and legs to keep them away.
