The original Metroid Prime. I think this really reprogrammed a few things for me as a kid- it had an atmosphere that really gripped me in a way other games just hadn’t, and I really loved Samus and getting to be inside her head for the adventure.

I am 44 and this is 100% correct. GenX/Elder-Millennial alt-rock people WORSHIPPED Boomer rock gods, it was the immediately-previous late-70s/80s mainstream "studio" hard rock acts that were the 'enemy' - thats what the 90s sound was supposed to be the "alternative" to.
As someone who is this guy's age I can tell you 100% that if you were into Pixies, Nirvana, 120 Minutes stuff, etc. but didn't like the Beatles you had to have worked hard to contort yourself into that special little box. Your enemy, if you absolutely needed one, was hair metal. GTFO here with this.
