This fellowship is for trans and gender nonconforming leaders currently employed by a philanthropic organization but newer to the sector, and provides ongoing support, peer networking, and leadership development.

At our most recent convening in Houston last April 2025, more than 350 national and regional funders came together to examine funding gaps and opportunities in the Southern LGBTQ movement organizing; we look forward to bringing this same energy to the Midwest.

Progressive philanthropy investment in LGBTQ communities is in decline at a critical moment for our movements. In 2023, for every $100 awarded by U.S. foundations, only 20 cents specifically supported domestic LGBTQ communities and causes— a decrease from 25 cents of every $100 awarded in 2022.
