The reaction to the Perfect Dark demo and accusation of "fakeness" makes me wonder if we should be more or less transparent about how the sausage is made. I think the average person would be shocked at all the tricks we as devs pull to make sure something shows well while it's still in development.

Yeah Mario Kart World for switch 2 looks amazing and all, but can we talk about the fact that Arcade Archives 2 is apparently a thing now and looks like Hamster is tackling 3D arcade games!? Would love to play arcade accurate Sega Rally games on modern consoles with wheel support!!

I would have said it was photoshop if I didn't access the site myself. That is crazy to see the names "Forza" "Microsoft" and "Playstation" all one listing.

It's gonna feel even weirder if/once Halo and Gears appear there as well.

I see the switch 2 trailer went with the sleek but sterile Modern Apple Hardware look.

Imagine if instead, it had the same energy as the Densha De Go 2 trailer: youtu.be/xZoeHjaviHw?...

I miss being able to replay games. I've probably completed Spider-Man on PS1 about 12 times since it's a breezy 2-4 hour experience.

Compare that to something like Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Love that game, but it's 70 hours. I'm only gonna see all your expensive bespoke content once :<

Always liked these Playstation Wrap ups, even though they basically are just a showcase for market research and data collection XD

Something I want to applaud; I was able to, and continue to be able play Zenless Zone Zero from launch with no connection issues, despite the 35 million other people who pre-registered as well. Well done miHoYo.

We should really stop scoring games. Imagine arguing scores for Mona Lisa vs The Raft of the Medusa. The latter, surely, a 10/10. But the Mona Lisa is so much smaller, with only one portrait. How could that be a 10/10 also? It's ludicrous.

Anyway, you should play Hellblade 2!

Do I have your attention?

Good.

This is a cute little puzzle game for switch. Drop fruit in a box. Match fruit, they combine and get big. Don't overflow the box.

Less than $5 on the eshop, go get it:

We (developers and critics) should work to developing better genre vocabulary to describe games. Board Games are very effective at describing experience through mechanics: Area Control, work placement, etc.

Instead of "Souls-Like", consider "Deliberate-Action".

I've noticed this trend happening among developers as well, and when I walk around booths at shows.

Traditionally you used to begin pitches of games by their genre or genre-mash-up. I'm not sure if the "game meets game" epidemic is indicative of genre descriptions weakening, or just bad marketing.
A terrible curse has befallen the games press, allowing them to only describe every game as two other games mashed together.
