Someone in my building bought a mirror, and these warnings on the box are heroic.

Just forget about this, I'll look into it when I am ready to. You have to let it go.

This, THIS is the cat trying to prevent me from doing my pills for the week.
First she thought she might eat some pills, then knocked over three pill bottles with one swipe of her tail.

Absolute kudos to Robert Primus and Alyssa Shukar of the NYT for this photo of the Chairman of the Surface Transportation Board that Trump I hired and Trump II fired. Dressed to the nines and looking smart he manages to make the metal mass transit bench he's sitting on look like a luxurious couch!

Local high school has a team named the Demos? With this picture of a hopping mad Donkey? I wouldn't bet on the Demos winning, and I think the donkey is a Hatch Act violation.

Turns out, Flannel is a calico cat underneath. Could not see the color of her fur clearly when it was so shaggy
Still cute tho.

This little cutie is off getting groomed for the first time, and will be absolutely unrecognizable when she comes back. I'll update later.

My puppy Flannel today, barking at a small stone dog. She kept barking at it, pausing twice to do the universal puppy play invitation move.
She was thirsty, but could not stop the barking long enough to drink.
How can I explain mimesis to my puppy?

This is my puppy trying to play with my cat. No idea if my cat hates this or not.

Just a motley colored puppy, sitting on a chair on the porch in the hot sun.

This language is particularly weird and creepy, "women have been crafted with a unique ability to use their own body most intimately in service of another." That's a very odd way to describe childbirth.

That's great and made me search for what the full body looks like, and the proboscis before drilling begins. Here's a pic from Roads End Naturalist.

Amazing dog today doing his least spectacular leap for the ball.

This dog, whose head is as big as mine, came over in the dog park and was voraciously drinking from our water dish, until my puppy couldn't take it anymore and reached out, flipped the water dish over.

My puppy Flannel spreads out her white beard on the couch arm to do her old man impression.

The puppy had an exciting outing for last potty just now. Found a stick of the perfect size, even if that makes it hard to bring in the house, and impossible to get through the door of her crate.

Also, should we have known? This doesn't scream dweeb as much as POSER.

If you see this, quote with a robot that isn't from "Star Wars," "Star Trek," "Dr Who," or "Transformers."

The toilet brush base, now in the dog bed of toys.
July 2, 2025 at 5:01 AM
This puppy looks all innocent, but she likes to steal things. She takes empty bowls into her dog bed.

Today in the bathroom she was futzing around, and ran off with the toilet brush holder, after taking the toilet brush out first.

You’ve been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you?

I'm cooked.

I'm no expert, but strikes me there's something wrong with this NYT headline wording. Yeah or nah?

This reminders me of The Negro Problem, widely spoken of after the Civil War, and an essay by a white man with the help and published comments of three white men, presented like this:
