Pretty wild that United are being blamed for not arguing enough about the shove on the goalie. Our fault, obvs! 🤨

(Must stop listening to the radio now)

21 years after graduating, I have finally paid off my student loan.

Celebration time! (Although you do have to laugh… and silently weep)

So looking forward to this!

Hope to see you there :)

I found my happy place yesterday, sitting on a bench at the National Trust’s Lyme, wearing Regency costume.

The costumes are free; visitors can borrow them to wander the grounds, Regency style 😍

Such a great day out. More dressing up opportunities at heritage sites, please!

Repeat of this but for June.

June?!?!
Sorry, but I believe it’s May tomorrow and I’m not sure how this has happened?

PSG were an irrelevance in European football until a state-backed project transformed them into a symbol of modern football’s moral drift - soft power, sportswashing, and influence beyond the pitch. Good as they are, success built on that model leaves a bitter taste.

I can scarcely describe the joy of watching Back to the Future. Perfection in a film.

Would be nice to hear more media narrative about the fact that 20 years ago, United were plundered solely in order to benefit one already incredibly wealthy family.

We knew then it would be a disaster; we just didn’t know how long it would take.

Utterly shameful that it was allowed to happen.

Thank you to @nqatpod.bsky.social for the excellent discussion about the impact of cutting staff on organisations (around 40m in) ie cutting isn’t always commercially sensible. This is in the context of a football club, but it’s important listening for all of us.

Last time we lost the Europa League Final, I’d just worked 50 hour weeks for months & months; left work at 8pm on the day of the Final to watch us lose on penalties; got up at 6am to get back to work early; & anti-United songs were chanted at me in a random lift.

Still, I think I feel worse today.

Feeling physically sick every time I think about the Europa League final.

Watching on TV, feeling powerless to do anything, will be pure hell.

Get into football, they said. It’ll be fun, they said.

This was a highlight of the year so far. What a privilege to meet such talented students - they are going to have stellar careers!

Thank you for the invite, @1000plateaus.bsky.social
Thanks a million to @lfcrossley.bsky.social for a super ace worship with our students on establishing yourself as a freelancer! Such great advice on practicalities (taxes especially) but also how to build a better (collaborative) sector while not burning out! What a legend!

I woke up in a good mood having spent yesterday evening with a good friend.

I’ve been in a good mood all day leading a workshop about freelancing for a group of brilliant students.

My good mood now lies in the hands of Manchester United. I have to say I’m worried for it.
