I gotta say, it is FASCINATING to have spent my youth hearing about "welfare queens" who had babies just to get money from the government and how disgusting and trashy someone has to be to have a baby for money and how we had to change the system so they couldn't get welfare.

This one is striking to me because it doesn't seem like Dr. Anderson is politically active-- versus the immigration attorney, where this letter from DHS seemed like a clear threat. This one seems like a bog-standard administrative fuckup

Also, I know a lot of you followed me for fun World of Warcraft content. I'm horrified enough by the actions of my government that I feel I have a moral obligation to bear witness and speak in whatever ways I can, which means my bluesky is going to be very dark.

I worry that because the genocide we talk about the most is the Holocaust, and specifically we talk about it in terms of eugenics, people assume that genocidal leaders are always very explicit that they are committing a genocide out of racism, which is not the case. There is usually a reason given.
