Getting a lot of boss baby vibes from yojimbo.

God I can't stop thinking about One Battle After Another. It keeps getting better.

Movie rush 4/45: The Legend of The Titanic

This the kind of movie that makes you long for the sweet release of the abyss.

Eternal nothingness is preferable to living on a planet where this exists.

One Battle After Another may have taken the spot from sinners in my favorites of the year. Damn good movie

#foursmovierush 2/45 La Jetée
too lazy to repeat myself in different words so have a comment I made about it elsewhere!

Very famous french new wave short film. More of a slideshow than a film really. Some neat ideas, but the story is ultimately a basic bootstrap paradox.

Starting up a media thread for my 45 day movie rush. Using #foursmovierush to tag it.
Movie 1: Zodiac has a lot of DNA it shares with Memories of Murder from a mood standpoint. Unrelentingly bleak. The composition is a lot brighter and more vibrant. I like both choices and think both reflect well

Decided I'm watching 45 movies in the next 45 days! Pray for me.

Downloaded tiktok. I have a new most boomer thought and it's genuinely how do people use this. It was instantly overwhelming lmao.

I'm doing something extremely wicked (considering getting a tiktok)

Begging anyone defending the cave to give one tangible benefit to the public of the dems caving and getting downvoted for my troubles. About to pop a blood vessel.

Current mood. Had it up to here with sniveling apologists for backstabbers.
November 11, 2025 at 3:49 AM
Something that keeps coming up in discussions with people saying dems did everything they could.
Either aca subsidies are worth people going hungry or they're not worth that. The senate needed to make that calculus 40 days ago not halfway through because they got a wild hair in their ass. Either

Mark Kelly notably declines to endorse Chuck Schumer as the leader of Senate Dems going forward

Asking Pennsylvania pals because I'm curious. Could Summer Lee win a primary against Fetterman if Gaza became a topic? What about if it didn't? Trying to scope out who to put some weight behind.
November 10, 2025 at 5:53 PM
We're seeing new frontiers in dem juche posting. Fetterman's approval being 54% disapprove 33% approve among dems is "close to 50/50" apparently. Genuinely flabbergasted.

Bittersweet that BWC is retiring. I am for retirements and hanging it up with grace when you're part retirement age (and she's well past that to be clear). But I can't help but feel NJ is going to disappoint me with her replacement.

So as some of you may know, my state of Indiana is doing mid district redistricting. Or attempting to. Not clear they have the votes. Anyway I wrote my state senator and state rep about it. I was surprised by my state rep writing back and not being overwhelmingly hostile to my pov. Her reply below:

this was all calculated.
No non retiring seats in 26 from either vote.

- Shaheen (x2)
- Peters (March)
in 28:
- Fetterman (x2)
- Hassan (potential retirement, x2)
- Schatz (March)
- Schumer (March)

Shopping for popcorn, tea, and coffee at 3 am. Nothing can ever go wrong if you get popcorn tea and coffee at 3 am. Always shop at 3 am. See y'all when I wake up in 6 hours mystified.

Democracy maintenance and reform is the ONLY issue on the ballot for 2026/28. We need to
1. Abolish the senate
2. Abolish DHS/ICE/BP
3. End the pardon power
4. Ban Gerrymandering
5. Enact proportional representation
6. Uncap the house
7. Curtail executive overreach
just for starters.

Don't agree with Zach on term limits but he's now my favored candidate for Iowa Senate. Consider supporting his brave stance here.
Senator Schumer has failed to lead this party in one of its most critical moments, and Americans will pay the price. It’s time for him to step down from leadership and make way for a new generation willing to fight for the people instead of the powerful.

reminder to any ambitious Dems waiting in the wings: announcing a primary challenge right now to a squishy Democrat who’s up in 2026, whether they voted tonight to shine Trump’s shoes or not, will almost instantaneously be awash in cash. fortune—and a primary challenge—favors the bold.
