Today is Clean the Bay Day! We volunteered at Virginia’s Mason Neck State Park to help pick up trash — We were lucky to see some pretty cool wildlife, reminding us of the many reasons why it’s important to preserve the Chesapeake Bay! @chesapeakebayfdn.bsky.social

US business interests have been conspicuously silent in the face of threats to democracy and the rule of law. In this piece, I discuss how business has politically fractured over time, pursuing narrow, particular policy wins over long term collective interests.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

“Here’s the thing: Once you give up the idea that we are all equal before the law and have the right to due process, you have given up the whole game.”

Thank you for your wisdom and courage, @hcrichardson.bsky.social.

Now is the time for all of us to find the courage to use our voices.
