And as long as I have this meme format available, might as well be REALLY irritating.

As regards powergaming: Hopefully this clears things up.

Okay, so, a thing can occupy multiple spots here - fireweed can take in sunlight and magic, and the flame aurochs that eats it a herbivore and thaumic heterovore.

Or not! Living crystals can just be thaumatotrophs, and the gyre-beasts eating them solely thaumic heterovores.

Uh. Anyway.

Etymology nerds:

Okay, so, autotrophs (and specifically phototrophs, like, you know, green plants) turn sunlight into energy for living on.

(Etymology on those is Latin)

If you've got a living thing running off magical energy (presumably a weirdass one), would you say Numitroph (off numen)...

Today I was reminded of the "big block of cheese" episode of the West Wing, so I threw it on idly, and... Nick Offerman was one of the "build a wolf highway" advocates?

Huh.

Re-reading The Well-Played Game, for the first time in *decades,* and the safety notes in it are HELLA interesting.

The author suggests having players devise specific rules for their safety - and doing it as, basically, a group trust and self-advocacy exercise for committing to safety *together*.

There's more AI-Generated pages than human-made ones online, and search engines are worse, which puts us in an era where those online that give & seek personal referrals to the Good Shit will get it, and those that do not will live increasingly in a world of crap, surrounded by chattering unreality.

Currently watching 2020's The Good Lord Bird, in which Ethan Hawke portrays a slaver-killin', Bible-thumpin' John Brown.

Hawke's version of Brown is worth seeing - a weird old coot who has zealously decided that God Almighty hates slavery and has given it to him to exterminate it's practitioners.

Continued "making the robot-coding exercises prettier" work. Being able to put a game-ish thing in front of someone every day sure does speed up development...

Punching up maps for robo-coding, so I grabbed my pixel art tiles, and... Yeah.

U-Turn: Yes. The arrows on repeat seemed too easy to confuse for a spin move, so changed it up entirely....

Command cards redone after aesthetic consultation with 6yo.

Making silly robot art out of basic shapes while kiddo does worksheets is surprisingly relaxing.

And then, the escalation into teaching functions, with Beboop....

The second bot, Zooch (I'm very creative). Still working on basic commands here...

Robocoding exercises, a thread!

The first bot, Skootch, commands, and maps:

Robocoding thing:

Opening bits, just to switch the lights on for "You get command cards to move your robot, you lay them out in series, and then the robot does them. The order of the sequence matters".

Expanding up the Roborally commands to make a tutorial game that'll include functions, conditions, loops, and a variable in play...

Draft of a roborally-esque "End of lessons" control sheet... Needs more function space, but getting close.

Teacher-strike Papa school is at the point where we're doing French vocabulary with a device that reads flash cards, making stories with Once Upon A Time cards to identify story elements, math problems with Meeples moving on a page, penmanship drills on custom sheets, and now logic puzzles with...

Just saying, Prism has a fairly direct way of answering "I want to do X with my inferno (or other) power, how hard is that?" that's worth seeing.

They've had at least a few days to recover, so maybe we should check in and see how the robot sex was?
