Unanimous vote for WhatsApp as a first choice for our organizing team. But we can also install the others if needed.

I am also an old fogey (despite working in tech!) and like WhatsApp best but I will go with whatever the majority wants (and have inquired with my co-organizers on their preference too). I probably just need to dial in my notification settings to get discord or slack to work better for me.
