i also read significant portions of no name in the street by james baldwin, their eyes were watching god by zora neale hurston, and a sorceress comes to call by t kingfisher - but i haven’t finished any of them yet.

anyway, i loved it so much i ended up reading the whole series. (there were 10 books out at the time.) it’s never left me. still my favorite series. 💕

i jumped straight into reading it, so i didn’t realize it was the eighth in a series.

it was in fourth grade. i don’t remember why, but everyone in class was given a book. if you liked it, you could keep it. if not, you’d pass it on.

I want to emphasize that I did like it overall, and I’d highly recommend it. Looking forward to continuing this series!

I gave it 3.5 stars because while I liked it, I felt that Dex wasn’t very relatable. I guess I’m just not restless like they are, so it made reading their perspective a little frustrating at times. Even so, I did appreciate them.

The most impactful part for me was a discussion about meaning/purpose that happens toward the end. Mosscap’s perspective is exactly what I wanted/needed to hear.
