the last book i finished was The Mimicking of Known Successes by Malka Older. it’s a sapphic sci-fi murder mystery - aka everything i’ve ever wanted. i’m trying to be stingy with stars this year, but this one’s going to end up 5/5 for sure. ⭐️

reuploading my january stats from @thestorygraph.com because i forgot to include my last book for the month. check it out! 📚✨💕
I read 7 books, 1968 pages, and my average rating was 4.33. Top rated books were The Hollow, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, and Cards on the Table. Average book length was 279 pages. Average time to finish was 6 days. The graph at the bottom is pages read by day, but honestly I haven’t even looked at it. I read 86% fiction, 14% nonfiction. 71% of books were <300 pages, 29% were 300-499. I read 57% print, 29% audio, and 14% digital. 5 books were crime/mystery/classics and 1 was essay/memoir. I don’t thin it included A Psalm for the Wild Built…

i was surprised that murder in mesopotamia wasn’t narrated in third person or by hastings - but by nurse amy leatheran! i loved her voice, especially this quote. ✨

my dear detective: mitsuko’s case files is a detective story set in 1920s japan starring a female detective and her handsome sidekick. the episodes in this volume focused on being true to yourself, and i really enjoyed it. looking forward to volume 2 in february!
