He/Him, Ace (Aego). Fleeing from Musk's midlife crisis. Terminally online lefty. Rides motorcycle, paints/plays 40k, anxious about everything.

Profile Picture from @liricita.
These look like professional photos some cosplayer/LARPers had done. I don't know how else to describe it.

Yeah I don't even intend it in a mean way, but the sculpts were dated, the rules were clunky and didn't look fun, the community was dug in. The only nice thing I can say is the lore/world is kinda cool. TW really did wonders in glowing it all up.

You cannot convince me that there are this many people online endlessly bitching who ACTUALLY played the game during end times.

I genuinely feel like a lot of the people who yellow belly about WHFB being shitcanned never engaged with it and are retroactive fans as a result of TW:WH TBH. As relatively "new blood" in WH, nothing about Fantasy looked like it was remotely compelling at the tail end.

3D printing models (not terrain) is a compromise on so many levels. If you're not getting something unique out of it, there's little to no reason to deal with it IMO.

I have some Aztec TSon proxies I used to try out the faction, and man, nothing made me want to blow my brains out faster than assembling those shits. I already hate super glue, having every piece made of resin just makes the process take ages, and it's so much more fragile.
November 11, 2025 at 1:16 PM
Yeah, the people who want to "stick it to James", "never buy plastic again", and whatever are the loudest about it for sure. Being honest, the convenience of buying a box that glues together nicely and requires minimal cleanup is already reason enough to just eat the cost.

I would buy hooded space marine helmets if GW would let me, but I'm not spending like. $30 on 4 or whatever comes in the DA upgrade sprue. So 3D printing it is, unfortunately.
November 11, 2025 at 1:08 PM
IIRC, Auspex did a poll a while ago (not the end all be all of data obviously) that indicated that the vast majority of 3D printer users (myself included) used theirs primarily for accent/customization pieces, and not proxies, primarily.

Yeah, so they're pitching a fit over nothing as usual. Eternal victim complex.

We also still don't have FSMs, do we? I know the upgrade sprue had faces that looked like they might be kind of femme, but did we get real confirmation?

Every Marx needs their Engels. 😌

I knew that, the cover just always read as like. Some random pulp to me, so it's just very funny to learn that it's not some random knock off, it's THE wizard and orb combo.
October 29, 2025 at 11:51 AM
The orb is specifically a palantir and that's Sauruman? That's wild. I just always thought it was some random goober ass wizard.

We were doing trials with them for a while. The new DOJ ruling precluding us from sharing research data w/ Cuba, Venezuela, China, Russia, North Korea, etc. has thrown a pretty significant wrench in that. Not sure where we are at the moment considering that recent change.

Outside of 1 audio issue that was caused by me having a multi output interface which took like 3 days to solve (some games had no sound, but everything else worked fine), I was daily-ing it for a week no issues. Wound up going back for the time being just because game performance was just bad enough

I did the same, installed Nobara (Fedora fork), because I figured the dual boot was "free" and would let me try it out with no real risk. I was pleasantly surprised at just how much more usable it was. There was a little bit of a learning curve, but I could absolutely just use it.

The "running as VP would be too cute" line definitely implies a more iron fisted methodology less rooted in legal loopholes and more in abused authority pretty explicitly to me.

I also don't think the level scaling could support all 26 ranks, so I get it from that angle too. But the shift was kind of jarring and I would have appreciated a lil more of a grind/challenge.
