You’ll get lots of pics of apples, grapes, wine, gardens, sunsets, dogs, and knitting; all accompanied by the odd grumble. (Some posts may refer to Cyclone Gabrielle recovery 14 Feb 2023)
Much love to artist @cathsheard.bsky.social for the aroha that she put into these works. Her interpretation of our orchard helped me once again love a place that caused heartbreak due to Cyclone Gabrielle. She has bought the property to life. Forever grateful. (Better pics once they are hung)

There’s always the houseplants to keep me company. This is L’il Steve, he suffered badly during the cyclone in ‘23 but has found his second wind after spending a considerable amount of time sulking

My level of frustration is high as I have my shoulder in a sling for another 4 weeks and all I want to do is get into the garden! I checked on last years tulips yesterday, not expecting anything and….everypot has tulips coming up. *happydance

An outstanding day in the garden today. In other news I Must stop buying plants online. In addiction (haha that was supposed to say addition but ‘they’ for it right) I have also started trawling the ‘rescue’ section of the plant stores

New art supplies arrived today. Just a scribble to see how they work and if I can control them…Do I love them? Yes. Can I get them to do what I want after 20mins of working with them? Nope 🤣

Much excitement at Milton Villa Wines. First harvest since Cylone Gabrielle 2 years ago. This Chardonnay is going into our first Milton Villa Blanc de Blancs “The Alchemist”

Firstly, this Pointons piece which looks like it should
a) leave you thirsty
b) poor the tea down your chin
The design, however, allows you to, should you wish, lock you lower lip around its rim and pour the tea down your gullet. Sneaky Elizabethans.
It has been given an 8.5/10. Would use again.

A great read. Pertinent as we are about to start delicately picking our new early season sweet variety. No barrels for these princesses 👸 🤣

On a whim, late last year, I bought ‘Ginger Kisses’. She was planted at the wrong time of year, in drought conditions. What a star! (Much more vigorous than expected, I will have to keep an eye on her next year)

Post flood we got the whole inside of the house painted, and it’s delicious, but I’ve decided to change one room. This means many more trips to Resenes to see if I need half, full or double. The addiction is real.
