“When you have lost the ability to get people to pay attention in order to safeguard their own lives, forget appealing to their sense of decency around protecting other people.”
Made me feel better about giving up on trying to convince people to believe in science:

When you become chronically ill - people leave you. They may be supportive at first but many grown impatient when you don’t “get better”.

They refuse to accept the realities of the “chronic” part of chronic illness. They leave you behind.

This is especially hard at the holidays. 1/2

Wearing a respirator isn’t a difficult thing to do. It doesn’t stop you from “living life”. Almost anything I used to love to do - I could do in a respirator.

Chronic illness has robbed me of the ability to do even the most basic of things. Safeguard your health - it’s worth it.

Never forget that masking is more than just protecting yourself from covid.

It’s an act of compassion, resistance, solidarity and community care.

It shows that you don’t believe people are expendable. That you refuse to be responsible for someone else’s suffering.

The kindness is in the trying.

The peer pressure to unmask has been enormous. Governments told people to go back to normal… and most did

They swallowed the comfortable lie that Covid was “mild” or over … and many are on their 5th (or more) infection & experiencing serious health consequences

Its time to put the mask back on
Maskers are NOT the sheep. Everyone who stopped masking did so at the urging of government leaders. They were told it was time to “go back to normal”.

They were instructed that “only then vulnerable” needed to worry and it was ok to leave them by the wayside /13

@bsky.app never experienced this volume of scammers and fake accounts before…
I had quite a few on Instagram, but this is way more.

Scam alert. This is a script that’s been shared all over the internet. Just a heads up, if you get messages like this report and block. Seems like Bluesky might actually do something about these, so worth reporting I think. #Scam

It doesn’t matter how “healthy,” health-conscious, or rich you are. You are at risk for long COVID, even from mild cases. Mask up. 😷 open.substack.com/pub/donotpan...

Up late with painsomnia, and looking up plants to draw for solstice. I just learned that mistletoe is a parasitic plant that can stunt the growth of, or even kill its host. How romantic 🥹

My favorite part about new moons is the stargazing 🤩
Happy new moon in Sagittarius (later tonight at 10:22pm pacific, to be exact). Look up Saturday night. You can see Jupiter and Mars in the late night sky. That’s Jupiter glowing brightly through the tree on the right (the upper one in tree)
