Ignoring margins and payback periods, this is an incredible offer for customer acquisition. I've seen B2B companies do this, but not a consumer brand.

Deepseek is an impressive technological achievement (Uses old chips and small team), but it is thoroughly a Chinese app. Its terms of service explicitly state compliance with Chinese laws.

This raises significant data privacy concerns, even more so than TikTok.
