For those who bought the game on Steam, the game should update automatically, and you can find the devlog here:

The Bibites: Digital Life - The Bibites 0.6.2: Steam Workshop - Steam News
New: Obviously, the Steam Workshop integration, but also many small additions and improvements, and quite a lot of bugfixes (and one small surprise 🤫)!

As always, the update is available for free on itch, even if you never purchased the game on Steam!

You can read the update's devlog and download it here:

The Bibites 0.6.2: Steam Workshop and toward the future
It's been a while since we updated the public version, and we think we were overdue, so here it is! We have started doing a lot of background work, but we still have quite a bit to share this time aro...

The "Sad" (interesting) thing is that it's mostly evolved for the oposite of its intended use nowadays

With all the changes I Implemented since, herding doesn't really seem to be encouraged and it's now pretty much always used as a kind of avoidance behavior (by negative stimulation)

It's an honor Mr.Reynolds!

Your work on boids (and probably much more I'm not aware of) inspired my simulation significantly

I even mentioned you in one of my early videos when I used a system heavily based on boids to implement simplified herding behaviors

I will attend!
And I would love to present something focusing on technical aspects of The Bibites!

But I'm not a formal academic so the lingo loses me a bit

Workshops seem more for open discussions?
Tutorials seem a bit too focused on teaching?

What's the right kind of proposal?

I hope so!
I usually pride myself in trying my best to give every voice an ear and expose myself to different opinions, even if I strongly disagree, but twitter has become toxic and unhealthy so I'm looking for alternatives

Still using both for now, although content here feels better

I use @freya.bsky.social's Shape for in game graphs, but for video animation manim is the way to go for me

They have different strengths I feel
Although manim's learning curve is pretty steep, but I got to that point from 0 in a single day, so not so bad I guess

My polycule decided to learn it as our secret language to communicate boundaries and personal things in public.

It's worthwhile no matter what:
It remains a niche conlang: Yay! Secret language!
It becomes widespread: Yay! We can communicate with more people

added bonus: new ways to think abt stuff
