Big Tech billionaires are counting on AI to make them even richer -- and they can’t have any regulatory protections getting in the way of that.

That's alarming news for the rest of us. Watch.vhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imtkNL4v2ks

Dying Jesus
at the end of yourself you turned,
and spoke words of
togetherness
in the places of the torn.
May we always find
words to hold,
especially in times
when the world
harms.
Because sometimes
words can
heal.
Amen.

Yesterday, at 87, my dad & former Ontario NDP leader Stephen Lewis, stood for an hour by the road in his old riding.

As a Jewish elder, he stood against genocide embodying the values he has always championed. I am so proud to see him on the right side of history – as always. ❤️

Pope Francis was a promoter of change — but not right away. To use a hockey analogy, he “ragged the puck”; stalling, biding his time, looking for an opening, perhaps waiting for a future pope to pass it to, so he could score. @winnipegfreepress.com www.winnipegfreepress.com/arts-and-lif...
Opinion: Pope Francis opened doors that others may not be able to close
Although I never met Pope Francis, it seems like he has been ever present in my life and work as a religion reporter and columnist at the Free Press.

I said it 30 years ago and I'll say it again today: you cannot balance the budget on the backs of working people.
My Shutdown Message
My message today is the same as it was nearly 30 years ago when Newt Gingrich shut down the government: you cannot balance the budget on the backs of vulnerable and working people.

Congratulations if you've faithfully read through my Gospel Reading Plan this past church year! The final reading is from Matthew 28, the story of Jesus' resurrection and his Great Commission. Here are a few thoughts on what the GC means—and doesn't mean.

The Great Commission: Make Decisions? Make Converts? Or Make Disciples?
I literally cannot count the number of times (bad memory? too few fingers?) I heard sermons on Matthew 28:18-20 in my early adulthood. Every missions conference, every year, there was at least one …
