Yesterday I went for a night snack. I raided my fridge.
I haven't done that for decades.
I couldn't sleep, tossed and turned.
But after the snack I slept like a baby!

Is myth the only weapon that can fight effectively against myth?
The Nazi myth recycled … as a MAGA myth!
I read Karen Armstrong's A Short History of Myth over the weekend. On the whole it's just a rehash of Eliade and Joseph Campbell, but with ...

No, Mr. President.

You do not have the right to take away student debt forgiveness from teachers, nurses, veterans and other public servants if they do not show loyalty to your right-wing political agenda.

This is a democracy, not a dictatorship. Rescind this illegal rule.
Trump moves to block public servants from loan forgiveness based on ideology
Those who work with undocumented immigrants, provide gender transition care for minors or publicly protest could be blocked from student loan forgiveness under a new rule.

Autism is a social disability because most people don't have empathy for the way we communicate... yet we're the ones constantly accused of lacking empathy. Make it make sense. 😒

We must always be aware that both secular and religious systems easily draw us in by the use of words and the glitter of power, calling us to serve the kingdom of man rather than the kingdom of God.

When we see how the Hebrew word "ezer" is used in the Bible, including how it's used in names, we see that being an ezer is not a gender role. And it is in no way an especially feminine role.

Once hailed as the church of the future, Willow Creek is marking 50 years—a megachurch celebrating survival despite scandal and decline.

Church leaders say they're hopeful; yet critics contend the women who accused Willow's former pastor of misconduct remain shunned.

How your cat teaches you priorities:

Step up ON your person
Head butt the phone out of the way
Smell the face
Turn around
Smash your tail in their face
Lay down for morning pets

We must not assume that our family, church, community, country, or organization is always right just because the people in it use the right words. We must never agree to “protect” the name of God by covering ungodliness.

“Husband of One Wife” in Early Christian Texts

What does "husband of one wife" mean in 1 Timothy 3:2, Titus 1:6, and elsewhere in the NT? I look at how leaders in the early church understood this phrase.

Just listened to someone promoting the idea to restore to ministry after sexual abuse.
Realised he did not use argements or teachings when claiming restoring to Christ and restoring to ministry is the same, he used emotional speech & tone of voice (contempt) to discredit the arguments against.

“wellness” culture feeds directly into eugenics.

It perpetuates the idea that disability is a moral failing.

That we can “try harder” our way out of it and if we can’t, we didn’t really “want” to get better.

It makes it easier to punish the sick & poor.

Disability is not a moral failing.

Let me share a true story.
Fernand got up every morning and went to work in the forest as a forester for a few hours. But that was not his profession. He was a parish priest. All he earned as a forester he used to help the poor in his parish, that's why he worked in the forest.
Hardly anyone knew...
