Just a Covid-era mom seeing her worst pandemic predictions coming true. I tweet about Ann Arbor, public schools and the dangers of replacing caring human teachers with zoom and for-profit tech companies. Opinions are my own. #a2schoolboard #a2schools
Hey, I’m so sorry, I was away for a bit and missed your message. No group dedicated to AI and in fact, the district is all in for adding AI to education. It is like how we pushed “day of code” on kids a decade ago but predicted the future all wrong. I can track down the presentation to the board.

They should have held the line and demanded private jet flights be cancelled before commercial flights.

For the team … and for the middle aged women fans. 😍

Nope. Some other poor kid went to Vietnam in his place.

I’m watching from home as a Lions fan, but this was unwatchable. I get that the Commanders have almost lost, but their fans deserve to watch their drive and not just the 🍊 🤡 in chief yap. Even Trump is telling them to watch the game, not just interview him.

Donated. When time comes to knock doors, I’m there.

It is the latter and while I too would prefer them banned all day, it seems to be a good compromise. Some kids and families rely on them for communication and digital reminders throughout the day, so a full ban usually results in the ban being overrun and ignored. This one seems to work.

😮 Good luck. After Superintendent Swift was fired and her head of finance left, the board discovered this in Ann Arbor. www.wemu.org/wemu-news/20...
Report shows high payroll and low student population led to Ann Arbor Schools' budget shortfall
A report into how and why the Ann Arbor School District had to cut $25 million from its current budget and how its Fund Balance dropped below 2% has plenty of blame to spread around. WEMU’s Kevin Meer...

Before I even dig into this, shout out to the graphic designer. This is truly a master class in how to use color, white space, typography, graphics, everything to help the reader better understand and follow the text and data.

Also, the maximum amount you can put in at a time is $50, which is about a month of meals for elementary and two weeks for middle & high school. That means that without free lunch, you will be paying between $12 to $50 per year just to Meal Magic now. There's always a profit motive to spending cuts.

Families should be aware that every time you submit a payment for your kid’s lunch, the for-profit private company Meal Magic will collect a hefty service fee of $2.95 for credit card payment or $1.50 for e-check. You can’t just send a check to the school.

Thank you Rep Jason Morgan for urging schools to continue providing free school lunch for all today as a budget deal with school lunch fully funded seems close. I hope #a2schools changes its mind and doesn’t start charging today. No update to families yet. www.instagram.com/reel/DPP7nY5...
