I like perfumes that are a little citrusy (bergamot, orange), a little sweet, a little spicy and a little 🧼🫧y. There’s basically only one perfect perfume I’ve found and it’s discontinued. On the hunt by trying some Heretic fragrances.

The kids are researching two writing projects at once. One on an endangered animal of their choice & one biography. Plus, we are deep into the land of fractions now. Life is good.

There are 4 monkeys on the loose in North STL. The photos of them are not disappointing.

What a restful couple of weeks. Back into the fray of 4th grade today.

I’ve read this book 6 times! I love it so much.
Aaaand my favorite book I read this year was Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë!

I feel a bit behind reading through a lot of classics for the first time at 35, but this one really surprised me. I thought it would feel outdated and slow but that wasn’t the case for me at all. Wish I had read it sooner!

One thing about marrying a gen x is he’s going to call me when it could’ve just been a text. Facetime at that! I have video messages from months ago I just watched. In every single one he says “you won’t see this for months.” 😜

Your parent dying will test your mind in many unexpected and indescribable ways. Grief is a journey without a destination.

Wild Dark Shore is one of those books you think about when you’re away from it.

I think the biggest plot twist of my life is preferring to teach math to the 4th graders over reading comprehension and grammar. I will read to them all day long, and I do enjoy helping them with their personal narratives. Even so, it’s amazing what you learn w experience.

My reading view, but this picture doesn’t do my 1928 window justice. The light comes through the prisms in the most majestic tones of blue and purple.

Found a pic of myself from 4th grade (along with some stories I wrote). I’ve always been a tad dramatic. 8 years old, December 1999. San Diego.

Very upset that library checkout cards are no longer a thing. The lore of who’d read the book before you was the best part of the library experience.
