Okay, but how do I get one of those big capes they wear on the sidelines of the football games??

Helloooo Seahawks!

Starting this one. Never read it in Catholic school so I feel like I’m playing catch-up.

Been researching places to stay in France, didn’t realize having a balcony would matter so much to me. 😅

When I lived in Michigan it wasn’t so weird to see but I’ve moved across the country and still often see people wearing Packers gear. I’ll never understand it.

I don’t really have resolutions but I’ve always wanted to run a 5k in less than 25 minutes and maybe this is the year to give that a real try.

I just ran one in 27 min 46 sec and felt like I had to push pretty hard for that.

I can shave off 3 minutes…right?

I really enjoy watching* The Pitt.

*this really means I avert my eyes whenever there’s something gross happening but still listen to what’s going on

Our tuxedo cat has discovered climbing INSIDE the bottom of the couch.

I love him, but he is such a nuisance sometimes. 😅

After almost 9 years here I believe my transformation into a Portlander is nearly complete.

I just bought my first pair of Birkenstocks.

Spent the evening working on a puzzle and drinking champagne in a robe (yes, again).

Happy New Year! 🎆

Aaaand my favorite book I read this year was Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë!

I feel a bit behind reading through a lot of classics for the first time at 35, but this one really surprised me. I thought it would feel outdated and slow but that wasn’t the case for me at all. Wish I had read it sooner!

I posted about this one before, but it did end up as the second favorite book I read in 2025 so I’m sharing it one more time.

I like John Irving to begin with but The Hotel New Hampshire covered it all for me. Just the right amount of dark humor that I like.

My 3rd favorite book in 2025 is very different from number 4:

Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

This was on my list of classics that I’m reading through, and to be honest I was kind of dreading it. I thought it was going to be a very difficult read but it was SO good. Who knew! 😉

Have I changed out of my robe today? Absolutely not.

Merry Christmas!

There are only a few Christmas movies I MUST watch every year, but White Christmas is absolutely one of them.

No one has wished me a Happy Festivus today 😔

Favorite books I read in 2025: number 4

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

My mom recommended this one to me and I really enjoyed it. I still think about Marcellus often. 🐙

Waking up to both cats trying to cuddle is a treat on any day, but especially on a Sunday morning 🥰

~My 5 favorite books of 2025~

#5: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

This was not on my TBR list, but it was a book my partner had on his shelf that caught my eye. Not usually my style but I had a hard time putting it down!

That was my 5th half marathon and I still can’t imagine running double that for a full.

When you’ve already run a half marathon for the day a 10 AM beer doesn’t seem so early 🍻🏃‍♀️

My next book is Little Women. I think I timed this right. 🎄

Officially just finished The Hotel New Hampshire and, boy, was that a wild ride. Just the right amount of messed up that I like. There’s a reason John Irving is one of my favorites.
