That's some cherry picking you got there. There are different types of housing that serve different populations. Looks like there's an over supply of single bedroom units but still a significant shortage of multi-bedroom units.

We are 40 years into the failed NIMBY project, and it's clear the social hosing proponents are not coming to the rescue to deliver housing for the working class.

Nope. I'll give you wage stagnation but in much of the country we simply stopped building a significant amount of housing, populations continued to grow but supply did not keep up. The markets that continued to build (largely the south but also Minneapolis) are affordable today.
