Her self-image is contradictory. She's low on the Baldurian social order, and though she believes the Guild is the city's true steward, it also has its own cutthroat hierarchy. Fittingly, she always wears the Guild ring and a dagger under her maids' uniform.

Chel's mother is a quiet, stern woman who wasn't open about her past after being exiled from her clan. Because of this, Chel knows very little about Dragonborn and doesn't quite fit in with them. She remains in Neverwinter, and they occassionally exchange letters.

Chel's lower class, working as a maid in the Upper City. She heavily plays into the social hierarchy to make herself inoccuous enough that no one suspects she's a Guild agent. She doesn't enjoy being seen as lesser, but the cover is too important to drop.

Chel has worked as a servant alongside her mother since very young. The family she worked for allowed her to sit at their children's classes, so Chel learned reading and writing from the back of the study room where the children studied under their tutor.

What fictional creature/villain traumatized you as a kid?

...The velociraptors from Jurassic Park. The kitchen scene was too much and I started crying. My parents had to stop the film. I was 6! I had nightmares about being chased by raptors for literal years

Actually in the middle of working on this!
Chel gets abducted while on her cover job so the first days she's running around in torn housemaid clothes. At the grove she gets field armor that can be turned into a lighter version. There's also the illusiory dress for the Waterdeep scene :)
