Wheelchair photographer and author, happily married, proud mom and grandma, technophile.
I never look a gift hat in the mouth. Discovered this buried in my closet, inside a backpack we bought at a garage sale. (The hat was in side, along with two books.)

The skies were in our favor this weekend, so we packed cameras in to the car and headed out. This bovine mom and youngster were far down a dirt road in the middle of nowhere

As we approach Independence Day, never forget why it exists.

I'm glad we got to go back and visit Pella (Iowa) again last fall. If you've never been - there are lots of windmills and other Dutch connections, including the Vermeer windmill shown here. It's a replica of one in the Netherlands

Most flowers won't grow in my yard in the low desert - but supermarket flowers still make pretty photos

I love an old truck, and this one's a beauty.

While there's not a lot of water and fewer truly green spaces in Arizona, there are a few manmade oases, like The Windmill Winery & Event Center in Florence. I never expected to see an egret when I left home this morning.

In my part of the world, virtually every flat (or nearly flat) surface is seen as an opportunity for art. Case in point: this painted trash recepticle in Miami, Arizona.

After a prolonged dry spell - literal and figurative - we went out and did photography this weekend. We drove into the old mining town of Hayden, Arizona. While not technically considered a ghost town... this is downtown. And this is the GOOD part of downtown. Same shot, bnw & color.

Taking this photo was bittersweet. The captain's hat was a gift from Captain Poolie. (If you know, you know.)

This is one of my favorite photos. I'm not positive what this old piece of farm equipment is - but I love the sheer artistry of old machinery

I'm baaaaack...! At least, my comnputer is. And all my photos. I'm a sucker for an old red barn, even when most or all the red is on the roof.

Sent laptop in for repairs a couple of weeks ago. Got it back - still didn't work. Sent back.

No photos until I get it back (ideally working again)

Sorry no photos for a bit. Between being swamped at work and having to ship my laptop out for repair (and using a 10-yr-old Dell) it's been a week.

We take a lot of ghost-town photos and pictures of things that are old. So many of them evaporate over time - sometimes short time. This marvelous little burger spot is an example. The restaurant still exists, but they moved to a modern, soulless building.

Been insanely busy for the past few weeks. Last weekend, though, took a detour to see an old friend about half an hour away. Snapped this vivid hibiscus outside the place we had lunch.

Sometimes I go back through old photos and spot something I missed.

This is called a fairy duster flower - but it looks almost like frayed bits of fabric.

Just Hangin' Around - taken yesterday not far from Picacho Peak.

And for the record, while I love the new job, it's kicking my behind.

Wildflowers - taken near Sasco ghost town in March 2024. I miss flowers and greenery. (Almost no rainfall this year so wildflowers will likely be stragglers only)

Upcoming project (and new scissors!) Dress or a split skirt and top - and the print, if I can make it work, will be a corset or stays. Fingers crossed!

Sometimes a photo's best friend is an amazing sky. Finding a solitary engine in an unusual color didn't hurt, either

A handful of tchotchkes from our weekend garage-sale haul, using a new photography technique.

Vintage Silk

Pulled this beautiful saree out of a drawer today. It's earmarked to be cut and sewn. Soon.

Here's hoping I get a chance to actually USE my sewing machine in the near future. I've got projects ready to sew, but every time I plan, something comes up.
