Confession: sometimes I buy the kids gummy candy for the drive home from school when I'm having a rough day. It makes my day a little easier, keeps them from bickering, and gives them a lift after a long day at school.

Existing is difficult right now. Trying to find a balance of 'do not avert your eyes' and self preservation. It's difficult in the U.S. right now, but I still have to feed and care for my family. Thankfully we are still safe and my kids are currently legally protected by Texas. There is still good.

Some days my faith in humanity is restored by very patient professors gently redirecting autistic college student. One of mine was so patient with a classmate of mine despite the utter barrage of questions and interruptions thrown at him.
