Sorry but this is total LARP, 0.00% chance the guy who went to Yale Law and converted to Catholicism because he thought they were right on the issues has never heard of Les Mis

What's it like having family who sees what's happening in the country for what it is? Is it nice?

Holy shit! Dover is hosting a No Kings Protest? HELL YEAH!

I'll be attending the one local to me, but that makes me SO happy.

Couldn’t help but notice that neither the Times or Post have a story up about Trump saying he’s not sorry that Joe Biden has cancer. I guess that’s just Trump being Trump ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just watched a snippet of the Trump interview where he was arguing vehemently with the gentleman interviewing him that MS13 is clearly tattooed on Abrejo Garcia's knuckles rather than a quick Paint job to show what his admin wants you to think each tattoo symbolizes.

We're so cooked, chat.

Me to one of my D&D players: Hey, can you check your notes to see if I established TOD?

Her: TOD?

Me: Sorry. Time of Day. Controls lingo.

Her, a bank employee: I knew you didn't mean Transfer on Death.

One thing that gives me hope is that a LOT of ppl are fighting back. You can see it in the protests, you can see it in the federal judges, you can see it how people are spending money (Target taking a hit in the tune of billions).

The problem is that the other side is moving at a breakneck speed.

I am really frustrated that the press is discussing the destruction of USAID as something that has happened rather than an illegal action that will likely be undone in two weeks when courts tell the world that it was illegal.

If you're confused, yes, Trump really did order the Army Corps of Engineers to drain a lake that is not even connected to the LA water system to help fight fires which have already been largely put out/died out, and, in the process, caused flooding and water shortages for local farmers.

Took a day off the news yesterday thanks to a work function that lasted all day and definitely needed the break. There's only so much "yeah I figured that the worst case scenario would happen" one can take before needing a break. Back to being an aware and engaged citizen today!

@chrislhayes.bsky.social: It's a particularly ironic twist that one of the main consequences of this ongoing bird flu outbreak so far has been massive egg shortages and skyrocketing egg prices.

Things are shitty in the US; let's talk Dungeons & Dragons! For I am nerd.

My homebrew D&D campaign is starting up again for the year tomorrow night, and I'm very excited about that! I run it biweekly over Discord (two local friends and one friend in Florida). (1/3)

I love this so much!

At the inauguration, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wore a distinctive collar adorned with cowrie shells, which are believed to offer protection from evil in African traditions.

This choice mirrors the late Justice Ginsburg’s practice of using collars to convey a message.
