When the original patent was published in 2023, I suspected but wasn’t sure if it’ll be used in Switch 2. This new continuation added a section about 3D sound from a handheld’s built-in speakers (crosstalk), a strong indicator that it’s indeed used in NS2.

Although for my live gamer 4k gc573 it can only request 1440p 120fps SDR for hdr it drops to do 1080p which isn’t right.

Its still greyed out in system settings but when set to auto the system can request 1440p 120fps hdr now instead of dropping to 1080p (capture cards did that) or black screening with invalid format when directly into my lg c4.
