This is a little old but if I'm following this chart from a 2017 538 article ... it basically makes no difference. (Margin after the TD would be -9.)

I just wonder if the psychological effects actually manifest in the stats.

I wish the announcers had gotten into the data. Surely "if you're down 15 is it better/worse/the same to go for 2 early or wait and go for 2 later?" is a question there's a lot of data on.

But the announcers are talking about the psychological effects so maybe not. (They're also referencing analytics without saying what the analytics say.)

My guess is it's a wash.

If they got 1 there, they'd have to go for 2 later ... and if they didn't convert that, they'd still be down a score.

Erivo is again really good, but the script/story issues let her down.

Jonathan Bailey and Ethan Slater are both solid.

Jeff Goldblum was super fun in his role.

Actors (w/ ... kinda 1 exception I won't say) great.

In Part 1, Grande really surprised me with how great she was in a comedic role. Here, it's largely a more dramatic (mostly: sad/crying) role, and she's not bad at all, it's just less interesting.

Both were relatively slow pop solos (as is tradition for these types of songs at this point)—added little/no insight and also were not IMO good enough to be excited about.

It's not terrible. It's not Cats. And there are definitely great moments. But the pacing (like in Act 2 of the stage show) sucks ... the characters (esp. Elphaba) are a bit all over the place in terms of motivations.

Also, like almost all just-for-the-movie songs, the 2 new songs added nothing.

I’ve called 12 different chains and 20 total places.

The best I can do is my regular pharmacy, which at least gave me some bonus info: they’re hoping to get some by the first week of December.

Unfortunately, that means productivity/awake time for me is going to suck for the rest of November.

Oh wait I forgot:

The CVSs near me make you talk to the computer for 5 minutes, give your cvs account info, and then leave a voicemail, and then a pharmacist will, 5-10 minutes after *that*, call you back and say they don’t have it.
November 25, 2025 at 9:57 PM
If a small pharmacy, two options:

1: the person will immediately pick up and say they don’t have it.

2: a person will immediately pick up and then put you on hold for 5-10m before telling you they don’t have it.

If a major pharmacy, a computer will do everything it can to stop you from talking to a pharmacist even though it cannot answer inventory Qs. If you try to shortcut the process, you’ll be hung up on and have to start over.

After 5-10m, a pharmacist will pick up and tell you they don’t have it.

I think you’re suggesting a legal rule: if a media outlet reports hearsay, it must describe the matter asserted as an allegation, or it’s defamation.

That’s just not a real rule.

Might some media style guide say “you must use ‘alleged’” in that circumstance? Sure. But it’s not a real legal rule.

Update: oh god I just looked on her page again … I didn’t realize she had gone THAT insane.

I knew she responded to the unfortunate research mistake incident by believing in chem trail/5g silliness … but she’s now retweeting white supremacists fear mongering about migrants.

1. Donald trump was listed twice. See pic of 2020 ballot (also happened in 2024).

2. Let’s also be clear: she believed that because Mamdani was listed twice, one voter could cast 2 votes for him. Even if you don’t like fusion voting, that’s wrong.

I only vaguely remember when I first heard her name—when she made some very embarrassing but semi-understandable research mistake and got exposed on the radio—and it seems like her reaction to that event was to say “I’ll never do research again!”
