I spent my whole childhood in gifted programs in NYC public schools. I benefited a lot from them. But kindergarten admissions are undeniably set up to let middle class parents game their kids into better school tracks.

I don't think a Reichstag Fire moment is possible at this point. The news cycle moves too fast and the public's attention span is too short for anything to make that big of an impact. That's what happens when you flood the zone.

Portland wouldn't be much easier. ICE has less than 400 SRT agents total. To be effective, they need a lot of support from local LEOs. PDX has the fewest cops per capita of any American city.
The fact that we have a lot fewer brown people to kidnap also means they'll get less bang for their buck.

Fifty gallon plastic drums are an ideal material if you want to build shields. But shields attract a lot of attention and work best when multiple people have them. Umbrellas otoh help with tear gas, can stop pepperballs, are lightweight, and deniable.
