If the Trump admin's allegations of gang activity and terrorism against Abrego Garcia were true, it would have no trouble prosecuting or deporting him legally. So why don't they? One reason might be that none of the evidence offered so far would hold up in court www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
Due Process Is a Right, Not a Privilege You Get for Being Good
If Kilmar Abrego Garcia is guilty of the crimes he is accused of, then the Trump administration could simply follow the law. Why won’t it?

This was SB99 from 2023. I spoke against this bill on 3 different occasions on the house floor, including the "blood on your hands" speech.

I am glad this bill has been permanently defeated. And that Montana's constitution continues to protect trans people from government overreach and animus.

Rare for a public poll, we did a survey experiment to test whether priming respondents about the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia impacts support for Trump's broader immigration agenda. It does. Support for blanket deportations fell 20 points after hearing about Garcia's case.

They called for urgent help with a mentally ill loved one. Why California police refused
Police agencies increasingly won't respond to someone in a mental health crisis unless there's a crime. So who will transport them to get help?

For decades, police were the frequent answer to these questions. But now, more law enforcement agencies are trying to remove themselves from this role.
