On the Hasan Minaj "emotional truth" topic in The New Yorker. I'm with him on this. He's telling stories based on his life and stories need shaping. Real life doesn't often come in 3 acts with a clear Inciting Incident and Refusal of the Call etc. You tell the emotional truth first, facts second.

Wait until you see the adverts for screenwriting classes that teach AI and claim they'll make you a successful screenwriter overnight. This class is from people that should know better too!
AI dweebs out here being so deluded that when AI models get updated they believe its actually their skill increasing.

Bro excitement over “AI” art strikes me as another example of the notion that an “idea” is worth more than execution, as in “I’ll give you my idea, you write it, and we’ll split the proceeds 50/50.”

In today's life as a screenwriter I researched all of the horrific ways deep sea divers can die. It took most of the day, and was truly horrifying, but I found time to pull them all together into a feature story.

There is no direct translation for "person" or "people" in Estonian. So my son saying "quick, the humans are queuing up" is perfectly reasonable to him but makes me think we are an alien family hiding out on Earth.
