After a year of procrastination I’ve finally replaced my aging 2012 Mac Mini… with another mini. This time the M4 Pro. I toyed with getting an iMac but the performance difference to the M4 Pro was hard to ignore. A decent investment I think.

Afternoon visit to Festival Gardens and Otterspool Promenade, Liverpool
Late afternoon looking across the river Mersey into the low sun at low tide. The sky is clear with a few clouds in the distance. Some of my recent snaps of my home town, Liverpool.
The photograph was taken at night. In the foreground is a WW2 commemorative statue of a young boy holding a model aeroplane aloft. In the background is the Liver Building in Liverpool. The aim of the picture was to get an angle from beneath the boy in order to capture him flying his aeroplane with the statue of the Liver Bird close by. This is a night time scene showing part of the Liverpool skyline. It was taken at the Royal Albert Dock, looking across the still water to the dock to capture the reflections. In the picture there is the modern architecture of Museum of Liverpool on the left, the modern office and apartment buildings of Mann Island in the centre, and part of The Strand on the right. In between the Mann Island buildings you can see part of Port of Liverpool building and the Liver Building. This is a night time panoramic scene looking across to the Royal Albert Dock. The water is calm and all of the buildings are lit up, casting perfect mirror reflections in the water of the dock. On the far right you can see the Tate Gallery. In the centre is the old pump house with its tall chimney, with the Maritime Museum to its right. On the left you can see part of the ferris wheel. This is a night time picture of the Liver Building. It was taken using a wide angle lens looking up at the building, giving it a towering appearance. The building has a lot of shadows, with key areas of the architecture lit up with lights.

Just done a check to see if my 2008 MacBook is still going strong… bizarrely it seemed snappier than my 2012 Mac Mini even though the specs aren’t as good.
