As much as she loves the Chargers, in her role as Inquisitor Ishtar absolutely would have sacrificed them in a different situation, but the Qunari were not the type of alliance that was worth it. She knew that this alliance would only go so far, that the demand of the Qun would not align (1/2)

What did your Inquisitor choose to do during Iron Bull’s quest?

I think Ishtar likes the Storm Coast and the Hissing Wastes the most. Both have an endless something that stretches into the horizon and gives Ishtar a sense of calm. Also, the Storm Coast is significant because of the Iron Bull.
(I love the Emerald Graves, but Ishtar is not quite a forest person)

Everything Mordin Solus, his character arc is one of my most favourite in fiction ever! Morrigan's very dear to me, too, I was roleplaying her in an online DA community for years, thanks to which I met my amazing husband. Other examples of things that touched me deeply in no particular order: (1/5)
Alright friends, tonight's qotd is going to be a little different tonight. Given the recent news, I want to dedicate this one to all the devs who made BioWare great.

So, what moment(s) in ANY BioWare game meant the most to you? Why?

The kudos are back to normal yay
Not sure what that was about
Somehow one of my ao3 fics now shows 8 kudos less than before
That's so weird
Especially since in the stats screen the correct amount is shown for the fic
Don't think that's ever happened to me before🤔

Probably watching the advisors work. Ishtar wanted to do her best to rise to the occasion and for that, she needed to learn new things and she needed to learn fast. She was mostly interested in Leliana's spy work, but Josie and Cullen had Ishtar hang around a lot too, especially in those early days

No. That was not something Ishtar ever considered. It was a destiny different from being the Inquisitor. A destiny that felt as much of a burden as being the Inquisitor was and Morrigan chose it for herself and Ishtar respects it when people are determined to take on burdens and usually lets them

Hawke. Ishtar needed Loghain, because she didn't know what the Wardens would do once the Inquisitor's party would emerge from the Fade and needed him to help her reason with them if necessary. The fact that she personally didn't like Hawke very much didn't influence her at all, I'm sure😅

Bleach thoughts: i find the past-tybw politics of the soul society super interesting. Like the central 46 would want Byakuya as the next captain commander bc nothing screams status quo more, but it would be much cooler if Shunsui's intrigues put Shinji in that position in the future (1/4)

Ishtar supported Gaspard because:
🟪 She felt that by letting the assassination attempt progress that far, Celine had lost the Game and should be left to fail
🟪 She thought installing a new ruler showed the Inquisition as more powerful and independent than saving an existing one (1/3)

The one thing from twitter that I really miss (apart from the awesome Naruto and specifically Maito Gai fan community I had there) is the account that posts daily pictures of Shinji Hirako *sigh*
And I'm only half joking when I say that it was probably the best thing on my feed for my mental health

Mages, because I headcanon that Ishtar's father is a Saarebas who left the Qun because he wanted a different life for himself rather than be a weapon of war. So even though she is not a mage herself, she sympathises greatly and believes mages should be free to determine their own fate.

Did your Inquisitor side with the mages or the templars? Why?

I completely disregard the mage origin and my Surana was already a respected enchanter at the start of Origins, she was Jowan's (and Anders' unofficial) mentor who got outplayed by Uldred and framed for being a blood mage. That's her at the time of Veilguard, she'd be 60, and her in origins (1/5)

Apart from her Kadan and the Chargers who are her chosen family, Ishtar's closest friends are Dorian, Cassandra and - in recent years - Morrigan. Dorian: they became close after all those late-night conversations about the most important things in life, challenging and supporting each other (1/5)

Young Velka was quite different from their older self. They were all prickly when uncomfortable, often brash or even rude sometimes, pushing others away while longing for friendship. They are quite happy that Emmrich didn't know them back in the day, as they are embarrassed about it. (1/4)

The Iron Bull, Ishtar and him bring out the best in each other. She thought Bull was so hot when they first met, but thought it was inappropriate to approach him, until she realised there might be a life after the Inquisition and she fell for him so hard over time she wants to spend it with him

I would love to chat with those 10 people who saved my Shinji Hirako playlist on spotify
What can I say? Their taste in fictional characters and music both is immaculate😸
January 8, 2025 at 4:34 PM
Okay, this is definitely what I try my best to be as a person, although I would see myself as more of a Morrigan+Merrill+Harding hybrid :D
January 6, 2025 at 11:34 AM
The way they approach things differs: Inq Ishtar has the mindset of a spy, while Velka is always the scholar. Both love learning new things, but with different motivation. Also, as a reaver, Ishtar has a bit of a temper, while Velka will let their anger show very rarely and has a lot of patience (1/4)

Ugh so far failing quite miserably at fixing my sleeping schedule in time for Monday which will be my first day at work after the holidays😩

Velka loves wisps because wisps remind them of their home in the Grand Necropolis. Velka has to smile every time there's wisps around, wherever they are. They especially love the Lighthouse wisps, because somehow they feel the most similar to the Necropolis ones (because of 2 mourn watchers present?)

Velka Ingellvar, a dwarven scholar from the Mourn Watch and a talented archer, a very mature person in their early 30s, thoughtful, decisive and charming (1/9)

recreated my Surana as she'd be in 9:52 dragon in DATV cc🥰
tried to make her look appropriately old, even though she still looks too young, cause she'd be 60 (yes, I disregarded the whole apprentice backstory of the mage origin for my canon), but let's just say it's a grey warden thing *shrug*

I was writing a lot about the significance of the captain's haori for Shinji in my fanfiction, I've always thought that this thing is a huge symbol to him and having it on strongly influences his actions and perception of self. So seeing him take it off before standing together with the other
