In law school I did substantial research in my Anti-Racism Policy class and the results are so very clear: implicit bias, confirmation bias/selective training data, and the use of historical data already tainted by disparate treatment, has muddied these waters beyond repair.
Responsible AI design, deployment, and adoption is more important than ever.
At our first-ever Civil Rights in the Digital Age Summit, we’re bringing equity to the forefront of AI policymaking, ensuring no community is left behind by the use of emerging technology.

Had the audacity to feel good early Saturday afternoon and was punished with bombs in Iran and a sharp downward turn in my mental health. My camera roll now mocks me.

Let's be clear, only Congress has the power to declare war....& hasn't declared war since WWII. HOWEVER, they have historically given POTUS authority to use military force (authorization for the use of military force (AUMFs)). DJT's actions tonight were to prompt retaliation to justify further AUMF

BREAKING: In a unanimous decision, a federal court of appeals has ruled that Louisiana's law requiring the Ten Commandments to be displayed in all public school classrooms is unconstitutional.
We’ll keep saying it: Public schools are not Sunday schools.

I miss the days when the Christian oligarchy that is our government was thinly veiled...it's scary to think our courts are the last barrier
Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

To recap—the only nation that’s ever used nuclear weapons on civilians, is backing a nation that has 200 nuclear weapons yet denies their existence, to threaten a nation that doesn’t have any nuclear weapons with annihilation if it doesn’t unconditionally surrender its sovereignty
Are we great yet?

Yesterday the Senate released legislation that would cut Medicaid more aggressively than the House bill—to ensure tax cuts for the rich—on the backs of the most vulnerable. Congress is racing to pass this bill by July 4. Stop them. They work for us. For you. @lwvus.bsky.social@lwvva.bsky.social
