Not too many [recorded on BGG Stats] this month but still had a great time playing what did. Sanssouci & Steam Power were really fun and our first plays of each. #Boaedgames

Was a mostly new to us month, where in this picture list only Deep Dive and Fantastic Factories were played a few times before Aug. High Tide was a standout 2-player tactical puzzle.

My wife and I tried all three new @flatoutgames.bsky.social releases. Although we need to get more plays to form better opinions, my wife’s favorite was Knitting Circle and my favorite was Propolis. As usual, solid production quality and components.

@kleary.bsky.social and I had a great time at Emerald Tavern & Games in Austin. Very good food & cocktails/beer, plus solid selection in their games library. They also have a huge Mimic on the front patio. Wish we had a similar place near us in Houston. #boardgames

When traveling I try to stop by an FLGS or two, and today I picked these while visiting the South Bay where I grew. First was The Game Hub in Manhattan Beach followed up by The Game Chest in Torrance. #Boardgames

My wife won our first game of River of Gold 70-65. Designed by Keith Piggott and published by Office Dog. I can see it becoming one of our favorites. #boardgames

My wife crushed me in Expeditions 79-35. I needed meteorite cards to synergize with my character and only a few came out the entire game, and the sweep action was on the opposite site of the map. #Boardgames

First game of #Finspan with my wife and I won 102-93. Of the series, Wyrmspan is still my favorite but I look forward to trying Finspan again and trying different strategies.

My wife and I played #OneCardWonder and #Jaipur #boardgames last night, with her winning OCW while I took Jaipur (sure wish I had the sneaky panda bear version of Jaipur though). We really like how quickly both play.

First try at ever painting minis; these are from Bardsung. I primed with a coat of black and then a coat of grey, and then followed up with a light dry brush of white. I used Army Painter Speedpaint 1.0. I’m happy with the results and looking forward to improving with each model.

My wife won our first game of Distilled #boardgame by a score of 118-104. Thanks to @tabletopgamedeals.bsky.social for the heads up on a great price.

Played the 1st & 2nd Editions of Trekking the World. The 2nd Ed eliminates the Ticket to Ride style card collection aspects in favor of card action selection; 2nd also has double-layered player boards. Similar to TTR expansions, both game’s’ rules are distinct enough to keep both in our collection.
