We need to require car makers to install data recorders in all cars and make it so crash investigators can quickly access it at the scene (when the car isn't mangled). It is truly stupid that when we investigate a death, like a driver running over a toddler, we only have ...

NEW: Last week, oil literally rained down on a Black town in rural Louisiana where 60% of folks live in poverty.

The company isn’t taking responsibility & the federal + state governments are saying residents have to clean it up themselves. capitalbnews.org/louisiana-oi...

Not that anyone will see this post, but lots of discourse today about moderating to win elections. If I were running for office (I'm not), I might simply take positions in which I genuinely believe instead of triangulating towards any one wing of any party.

Wasn't it supposed to be about antisemitism?
Linda McMahon on Columbia settlement: "This is a monumental victory for conservatives who wanted to do things on these elite campuses for a long time because we had such far left-leaning professors."

At this point, I can only ask, what is Elon Musk not ruining?
Except Elon Musk is pumping the upper atmosphere with hundreds of tons of aluminum oxide. Which, unlike halocarbons, aren’t consumed by the process of destroying ozone. And will longer for decades while they do their damage.

Satellite megaconstellations threaten ozone layer recovery, study confirms
Within the next 30 years, concentrations of ozone-damaging aluminum oxides in the atmosphere could increase by 650%.

I'm sure others have made this point, but if these tariffs stick around long enough then all prices, even for goods not subject to tariffs, will go up. The "chicken tax" (25% tariff of foreign light trucks) gives US domestic truck makers the ability to raise their prices... 1/

I really think we should stop using the "it's what a mob boss would do" analogy. Not because it's inaccurate, but because Trump probably loves being thought of as a tough guy, mob boss. Maybe say "this is some Sheriff of Nottingham shit"? Xerxes from the movie 300?

I think the entire NBA is about to be deported...
Adding some more context here: The document linked above also has an unclassified ICE HSI list of some Tren de Aragua tattoos and "identifiers."

Wearing a Michael Jordan jersey can get you halfway to being deemed a TDA member, and having a nautical star tattoo can get you the rest of the way!

Trump talks to us like we're stupid. A kid who survived cancer was literally held up like an actual prop. Talking about how Trump will stop him from being exposed to harmful chemicals that caused his cancer. Motherfucker you just said you were going to cut the EPA budget by 65%!!!! 1/

All that thinking about the Roman empire should come in handy as a guide for watching the fall of the American empire.

On the other hand, if Canada became part of the US, maybe the Senate will swing to Ds and Rs could no longer win nationwide elections...?
