🤣 my handwriting was always so bad in these things. I have a clear memory of writing “novel” where I should have said “memoir” in one of these books, and the professor circling it in red with a big NO!!! comment. I thought novel was a fancy word for book.

They weren’t spiral bound at my school, just little stapled booklets and they did have blue covers. But that was 20 years ago.

I got this text the other day for a one day overdue book:
County Library materials are overdue. Return as soon as possible to avoid replacement fees. Account Balances: >$25 - blocks account, >$50 - sent to Collections
😳🙄

A big part of our summer reading program promotion is a $5 fine waiver for signing up, like it’s printed on our reading tracker, which I find really sad.

🙋🏻‍♀️ My library does unfortunately. Salt Lake County. We eliminated late fines for children’s materials last year but I guess our leadership doesn’t think we could get county council support to eliminate them entirely.

I love Salt Lake City just telling the state to shove it with their anti pride flag legislation. I noticed they had the City building lit up like a rainbow the other day, which is not a cloth flag. 🙃

Agreed, the playoffs have already been so fun.

I have not read the other two impacted books, but they are Story of a Girl by Sara Zarr and Speak (Graphic Novel) by Laurie Halse Anderson.

She had a seat cover that got moved out of place a bit, but it was a very busy LA street.

Reminds me of getting yelled at for scooting across a seat to avoid getting in on the side with traffic.

This type of rhetoric is obviously so contrary to what libraries and museums do.

Ugh! I would like to think these guys take a little more care when discussing national security matters than I do when compiling a work Slack thread, and honestly I take quite a bit of care not to add the wrong people.

I recommended Doctor Odyssey on my family group chat after the first episode because I was so happy to see Pacey and Eliza Hamilton on my screen, but had to take it back around episode three. It's so out there!

I hope you’ll consider coming to Salt Lake City. I was so happy to hear from Bernie in March 2020 right before everything crashed.
