Can you imagine the creativity and progress we could unleash if everyone had the opportunity to train to their potential without the barrier of educational debt?

They are calling it his birthday—or flag day? I’m okay with flag day but wouldn’t put it past them to take a legit patriotic day and try to make it all about him. Taking away Juneteenth and MLK Day is petty and spiteful, exactly something I would expect from them.

Figure out how much someone bringing in $1M a year should bring home every month. It’s astonishing, even if you assume they pay full taxes without deductions. Then consider people who make multiple millions or billions. Without us making and buying things, what would they have?

I love this solution. Unfortunately, the data center construction I keep hearing about in the US is clustered in the southern states where it is already hot most of the year. Why can’t we be smart like this? Oh yah—because too many of our politicians serve billionaires, not the rest of us.

I’m seeing movement in Texas among people I know. Of course, our current state administration is so blatantly terrible that some R-leaning folks may simply sit out. Even the nut job behind Bucees with the 4 x 8 plywood he paints with various Trump messages has downsized to 1 small sign.

BTW, I realize it’s awful that I feel like no matter how good the dem candidate is, we have to count on how awful the Republican one is to flip the state.

We will really need to get folks out for primaries and then all push behind whichever dem comes out ahead. ANY dem will be better than Paxton. Praying Paxton ends up the repub because he is deeply disliked and may be bad enough to turn the vote here.

I would love to not need a car! Unfortunately, that’s not possible where my family is. I do love visiting walkable cities with great public transportation!

Because our AG, Ken Paxton, has used up all lawsuit oxygen in the state. I know it’s a close race, but I think Paxton makes me even more nauseated than Abbot.

Now that the last signature is there, no one can take their name off the petition. They can vote differently later, but voting to block the full files will be difficult to defend (except for White House press contacts. They are truly impressive spin masters/liars).

Exactly! My husband’s family has lived in the same area in South Texas since the late 1700s. The borders moved around them. Most of them are fluent in both Spanish and English. His Hispanic side has been here way longer than my European side!

I agree about universal healthcare, but I do think Medicare already has the infrastructure to get it moving quickly. It would be a vast improvement from what we have now and can be improved as we go.
