I once quite confidently told my students I was something like 36 or 37 and only hours realized that I was off by two years. I genuinely didn’t know how old I was. Didn’t happen in my forties.

Exactly, the entire argument for this narrative is that kids rarely die of COVID. That’s true, but it wasn’t the justification for the policy. Teachers *do* die of COVID and kids *do* spread COVID.

I understand why people in education say they're turning to this technology because they have too much to do and they think it can ease the burden, but this is not an AI problem. It's a labor problem that the AI is only going to make worse over time.

They were LOUD last night, and some were much closer than I expected in town.

My middle schoolers read 15-20 minutes every single day, and it’s a lot of work to get there but it’s totally worth it. We see a ton of growth over the 2-3 years that we do this.

My 7th graders were talking about how they need to carry their tribal id cards.

I have a feeling that I’ll buy many many copies of this book.
