If you want to get really deep into it, you could start with reading Jungian scholarship from back when they thought it might be regular science not just pseudoscience. I don’t remember what exact books I read but the original seminar is interesting and other jungian stuff gives interesting context.

When I was working on the Warhammer MtG decks at Wizards I would tell people "oh yeah the Necrons have gotten really horny recently" and they were like "what do you mean?" and I'd just show them this picture.
